Is there one the best exercise for developing vertical jump?

Many think that squats are the best, others that calf raises. Although most of these exercises for legs and feet are widely used in vertical jump training, it is impossible to bring out a single exercise, which would be more effective than others and make you jump higher overnight.   We think that there cannot be a one and only exercise, which would make you an excellent jumper.
