Is stamina important in basketball?

Basketball is a very varied game, which requires very varied training and different abilities from the players. Coordination, maximum strength, explosive strength, and naturally stamina – all play an important part. During the game, one has to make high jumps, fast sprints and perform perfect passes and shots. For that we need a very high vertical jump, explosively quick ability to spurt and good coordination. But it is difficult to do all that if we have weak stamina. What are the pros and cons of plyometric training?

When training vertical jump, we cannot leave out the plyometric training method, which has been approved and is used by many coaches. Yet, this method has both pros and cons. Or to be more exact, plyometric training can be used correctly and wrongly! The main thing is to use correct strain and proper technique when performing the exercises. If you wish to run faster or jump higher, you should pay attention to these two points. How to increase vertical jump?

There is so many vertical jump programs out there. Many of them don´t talk about basics! where our jumping power is coming from and so on. The first thing i want to talk about is explosive strength! This is the key. In order to jump higher and run faster, maximum strength is not the main attribute to train. The absolute strength potential of a muscle is important, but not exclusively so. Your body must be strong! It is obvious that your body should be both strong and prepared. This will significantly decrease the risk of injury.
